Lisa & Rob's St Lawrence Jewry / MC Motors, London Wedding Photography Blog.
Yeah, we'd been waiting for this one for a while. What an opportunity we had been given to be shooting a wedding in the big smoke!
So it was Lisa & Rob's big day and so much had been planned. We were both well excited for this one as we had travelled down to London for their pre-wedding shoot in late 2016 and had an amazing time as well as getting some great shots.
We started the day at the coolest hotel called " The Curtain". This was where Lisa had chosen for her bridal preps and we were so glad of it. We arrived to preps being in full swing and to a very excited Lisa! She kindly let us take some of her bridal details down into the reception where we managed to hang her dress above the lift doors making sure we captured this and the amazing chandelier hanging above. All seven bridesmaids were about ready when we decided to whisk them off outside for some funky fun shots as seen below. We both love a more urban style wedding and this was perfect making use of the streets of London.
After a while it was time to head off to St Lawrence Jewry, the most stunning church re-designed by Sir Christopher Wren after the great fire of London but originally built in the twelfth century. We could hear in the distance the hum of classic Mini cars on their way then the sound of the horns beeping away. Rob had arrived!
In great spirits we quickly took Rob and his seven groomsmen away for some cool shots with each one ready and willing. Making sure we caught the surrounding areas in our shots, time was counting down for Rob and Lisa to say their vows.
Lisa then arrived with her father in a classic TVR which gave way to one of my favourite shots of the day where Lisa is looking through the car window. By now all wedding guests had entered the church and the bridal party lined up for their entrance.
The vicar and his assistant were totally fantastic with us both and had told us the best places to get our shots from and allowed the bride and groom to be positioned favourably for our photography so big thanks to you both.
The ceremony was brilliant and as time was ticking away we captured their group shots outside and even squeezed in a few shots of them both in the surrounding areas too but not missing out a couple of shots with the Mini, TVR and Routemaster bus they had provided for their guests to reach the next part of their day.
Lisa and Rob followed us driving the TVR so we managed to stick our head through the sunroof and shoot backwards capturing the city scape where we eventually arrived at their evening reception venue, MC Motors. Now this is a pretty spectacular place but blink and you'll miss it. The frontage resembles a small shop window with a 1970's style cinema board above which bore the bride and grooms names and wedding date. Once inside the place opens up into the most fantastic industrial looking venue which at certain times is used for fashion shoots and TV work. We totally understand why they chose this venue and it suited them perfectly. The thought that had been put into their decor and details was nothing short of perfect.
As we heading into the wedding breakfast and speeches we managed a few more group shots and some more personal shots of Rob & Lisa around the building before the night got into full swing.
We just want to say a massive thanks to Lisa & Rob for letting us be a part of your day. We had an amazing time and wish you all the best for the future.
Big love.
