Amy and Will's wedding at Aston Church and Peak Edge Hotel

The 6th of August was the big day, and we knew it was going to be a good one: a ceremony at Aston Church followed by a reception at the Peak Edge Hotel in Derbyshire. We knew right from their pre-wedding shoot that Amy & Will were going to be ace and pretty adventurous. Even then they were both up for trying out a few different types of shots, so we knew they would be great on the day.

Bridal preps and Aston Church

We started the bridal preps at Amy’s parents’ house. Everything was pretty chilled, and we got on with shooting the day while being made to feel very welcome and offered food and drinks!

By the time Amy had her dress on and we had a few shots, it was time to head over to Aston Church to meet Will and all seven of his groomsmen.

It had been a beautiful sunny day so far, and we could see Will heading down the road after a cheeky drink in the local pub with his men. All prepared and ready, we did the groomsmen shots, as well as shots of all the guests arriving to celebrate their day.

Amy wasn’t far behind, arriving in a classic car with her father, who looked as proud as anything, ready to enter the church to say their vows. The ceremony was fantastic, and luckily we still had plenty of good weather when they left the church for their group shots, with plenty of time to get to the Peak Edge Hotel.

The Peak Edge Hotel, Derbyshire

As we arrived in the openness of the Peaks, the temperature cooled and the skies turned a little moodier. We were greeted by a lovely wedding coordinator, who ran through the rest of the day with us, just as Amy and Will arrived over the hill in their classic wedding car.

The Peak Edge Hotel is fantastic for bride and groom shots: round the back lies a huge pond with the most amazing large carp swimming around for you to see. A bridge straddles the pond, which is fantastic for shots, as is the vast openness of the Peaks surrounding you.

After some great speeches, guests gathered outside for a few games and a family challenge of tug of war. We’re not quite sure who won, but it made for some great shots.

The rest of the evening was fantastic, with nothing being too much trouble for the amazing couple as they and their guests danced the night away.

Massive thanks to you both for being ace, and we both wish you all the best.

Big love
