Welcome, all, to our latest blog: Anne & Mike’s wedding in Richmond, North Yorkshire.

So, what can we say about Anne & Mike, apart from what a fantastic laid-back couple they are? They originally got in touch with us after seeing our “Wedding Photographers Shoot Their Own Wedding” blog on Britain’s top wedding blog, Brides Up North, and after a short Skype call they decided to book us there and then, which was fantastic.

Our first real-life meeting, though, was their pre-wedding shoot, when they made the trip down from Middlesbrough. From the off we knew they were a great couple, and the pre-shoot ended with a pint at the local pub! After hearing more about their day, we were totally excited to be part of it, and we knew we would be left to our own devices to do what we do best.

So, the big day came, and we set off on the hour-and-a-half journey up to Richmond. We were to meet at the Castle House B&B, right in the centre, to start the bridal preps. As we arrived, the bridal party were finishing their breakfast and preparing for the day ahead. They were in great spirits and gave us a warm welcome, and we got some great shots.

After a while it was time to head over to the church where they were to be married. It was only a short distance away, and we were met by Mike and his groomsmen, who were also very warm and welcoming and ready to get some shots. With guests arriving too, and all those important candid shots to get, it was soon time for the ceremony, which went brilliantly, followed by some group shots outside.

After this we headed over to Mike’s parents’ house, where they had a huge marquee set up in the back field. They had chosen an amazing rustic, vintage feel for their decorations, and people relaxed for the rest of the afternoon.

After speeches and more relaxing, it was time to cut the cake, get on with the first dance and really get the party started.

We can’t thank Anne and Mike enough for being so cool with us, and we hope to see you both in the future.
