Carys and Nick's farmyard engagement shoot in Rotherham
As the wedding of Carys & Nick draws ever closer, it was time for their engagement shoot. After a few emails about where it should take place, we figured the obvious answer was their farm in Rotherham!
What better place to get some amazing shots than a farm in Rotherham? To start with we had no idea what the farm looked like, but we pretty much knew we’d be walking into something quite rustic and loaded with character, and we weren’t disappointed. The sign outside said “Local Honey”, and a further board tucked round the corner advertised getting your turkey ordered for Christmas. Brilliant! We knew we’d picked the right place for their engagement shoot.
A tour of the farm
Carys & Nick are the most laid-back, friendly people you could wish to meet, and the conversation was always flowing (sometimes a little too much), but before we cracked on with the shots we needed a bit of a tour. It was like being back at school again. Cows and other farmyard animals greeted us just around the other side of the farm, and after a quick stroke we finally got our cameras out.
Nick & Carys took to it like ducks to water, as did the cows in the cow shed (see below).
When we’d finished shooting around the farm, we decided a little trip into one of the fields would be a good idea, making use of the hay and the beautiful surroundings.
Big thanks again to Carys & Nick for making it an amazing shoot, and a big thanks to the cows for not killing us too. Especially you, 118. We’re really looking forward to being your wedding photographers, and we’re going to get you some great shots.
