Laura and James's wedding at The Stables, Doncaster
Laura & James’s wedding at The Stables, Doncaster.
Last week saw us shooting Laura & James’s wedding at St Margaret’s Church in Swinton, then off to The Stables, just on the edge of Doncaster.
There was a slight bit of nervousness about the weather, as all the week before we’d had glorious sun and the forecast for the Saturday showed heavy rain… all day.
Well, it did start off raining, quite a lot, but Laura wasn’t fazed and knew that whatever the weather, it would be a great day.
Swinton and St Margaret’s Church
We started in Swinton with the bridal prep photography, then it was off to the church for a 12 o’clock wedding. We met James at no other place worthy of a Swinton St Margaret’s wedding than the Ring o’ Bells pub, just down the driveway from the church. In great spirits, we went off with umbrellas above us to get some groom, best men and usher shots. They’ve obviously been friends for a long time, and it came over in their shots.
It was still raining when Laura arrived, but she looked stunning as she walked down the aisle with her father.
As we’d been inside the church for a while, we didn’t really know what the weather was doing outside, but we had group shots on our minds, so we had our fingers crossed for a pause in the rain.
On to The Stables
After the ceremony we made our way outside, and to our surprise the rain had stopped, so we cracked on with the group shots, then quickly headed off to The Stables.
From then on it didn’t rain for the rest of the day, and it actually turned out pretty good.
Don’t trust the BBC Weather app!
Anyway, after the wedding breakfast and speeches, it was off for a great night for all.
We had an amazing day and wish Laura & James all the best for their future together.
