Lisa and Rob's London wedding at St Lawrence Jewry and MC Motors

Yeah, we’d been waiting for this one for a while. What an opportunity we’d been given to shoot a wedding in the big smoke: Lisa & Rob’s wedding at St Lawrence Jewry and MC Motors in London!

So it was Lisa & Rob’s big day, and so much had been planned. We were both well excited about this one, as we had travelled down to London for their pre-wedding shoot in late 2016 and had an amazing time, as well as getting some great shots.

Bridal preps at The Curtain

We started the day at the coolest hotel, The Curtain. This was where Lisa had chosen to do her bridal preps, and we were so glad she did. We arrived to find the preps in full swing and a very excited Lisa! She kindly let us take some of her bridal details down into reception, where we managed to hang her dress above the lift doors, making sure we captured it along with the amazing chandelier hanging above. All seven bridesmaids were about ready when we decided to whisk them off outside for some funky, fun shots, as seen below. We both love a more urban style of wedding, and this was perfect, making use of the streets of London.

The ceremony at St Lawrence Jewry

After a while it was time to head off to St Lawrence Jewry, the most stunning church, originally built in the twelfth century and redesigned by Sir Christopher Wren after the Great Fire of London. In the distance we could hear the hum of classic Mini cars on their way, then the sound of their horns beeping away. Rob had arrived!

In great spirits, we quickly took Rob and his seven groomsmen away for some cool shots, each of them ready and willing. We made sure we caught the surrounding area in our shots, as time counted down for Rob and Lisa to say their vows.

Lisa then arrived with her father in a classic TVR, which led to one of my favourite shots of the day, with Lisa looking through the car window. By now all the wedding guests had entered the church, and the bridal party lined up for their entrance.

The vicar and his assistant were totally fantastic with us both. They told us the best places to get our shots from and let the bride and groom be positioned favourably for our photography, so big thanks to you both.

The ceremony was brilliant, and as time was ticking away, we captured their group shots outside and even squeezed in a few shots of the two of them in the surrounding streets, not missing a couple of shots with the Mini, the TVR and the Routemaster bus they had provided to take their guests to the next part of their day.

The reception at MC Motors

Lisa and Rob followed us in the TVR, and we managed to stick our heads through the sunroof and shoot backwards, capturing the cityscape, until we eventually arrived at their evening reception venue, MC Motors. Now, this is a pretty spectacular place, but blink and you’ll miss it. The frontage looks like a small shop window, with a 1970s-style cinema board above it bearing the bride and groom’s names and wedding date. Once you’re inside, the place opens up into the most fantastic industrial-looking venue, which is sometimes used for fashion shoots and TV work. We totally understand why they chose this venue, and it suited them perfectly. The thought that had gone into their decor and details was nothing short of perfect.

As everyone headed into the wedding breakfast and speeches, we managed a few more group shots and some more personal shots of Rob & Lisa around the building before the night got into full swing.

We just want to say a massive thanks to Lisa & Rob for letting us be a part of your day. We had an amazing time and wish you all the best for the future.

Big love

Nick & Nic
