Why two photographers on your wedding day changes what you get

Why two photographers on your wedding day changes what you get

Every full-day collection we offer comes with two photographers, and it is always the two of us: Nick and Nic. Couples sometimes ask whether that really makes a difference or whether it is just a nice extra. After nearly twenty years of photographing weddings together, we can honestly say it changes the whole shape of your gallery. Here is why.

Two places at once, all morning

With two of us, nobody’s morning is missed. One of us is with each of you, catching the buttonholes, the last-minute tie adjustments, the dress going on and the quiet moment just before you leave. Your gallery tells both sides of the day from the very first hour, not just one.

Two angles on the moments you only get once

The ceremony is over in a matter of minutes and none of it can be repeated. With two photographers we can be in two places without anyone moving around or getting in the way.

One of us is facing you as you walk down the aisle, ready for the first look between you. The other is watching your partner’s face, and the faces of your guests turning round. During the vows, one of us stays on the two of you while the other catches your mum reaching for a tissue. You get the moment and the reaction to the moment, which is often the photo people love most.

Your guests, not just the group shots

Weddings are full of little things happening at once: the speeches, the children running round the drinks reception, an old friend you have not seen in years laughing at the back of the room.

Our style is natural and candid, and we never want you to be away from your guests for a two-hour portrait session. With two of us, one can take you off for twenty minutes of portraits while the other keeps an eye on everyone else, so you come back to a party that was photographed while you were gone.

A full day, start to finish

Our full-day collections run from three hours before your ceremony until after your first dance, with roughly 1,000 fully edited images delivered as a high-resolution download, plus your own password-protected online gallery and drone photography included. That is a lot of day to cover well, and two of us means nothing important slips through the gaps.

When one photographer is plenty

Not every wedding needs two of us, and we would never tell you otherwise. For an intimate wedding or a shorter day, Collection One gives you six hours with Nick and around 400 fully edited images. If your day is small and all in one place, that can be exactly right.

You can see everything each collection includes on our pricing page, and a little more about how we work through a wedding day on our weddings page.
